By Rosalind Russell – It is not likely the best news that Elliot Lake council will receive at tonight’s meeting, but slow and steady is the approach to repairs to Rogers Arena.
A report will be presented to the council this evening that states the foundation work at the facility is unlikely to be completed by late fall.
The report from states, “the revised schedule of late October reflects the complexity of the site conditions as well as coordination challenges that have emerged during implementation.”
It further describes the foundation phase as “one of the most complex and technically demanding aspects of the project.”
Completion has originally been expected by the end of this month, and then the renewal of work on the interior, but the domino effect likely means the arena may not reopen until the New Year.
The presentation takes place at 7pm in council chambers and can also be viewed online with the links available on our websites.
