Waubetek moves to digital mode

By Rosalind Russell – After 37 years of operating offices in Whitefish River First Nation, the Waubetek Development Corporation is transitioning to a remote digital office operating model.

According to the release, since the pandemic the corporation digitized operations making them more accessible to more clients across Northeastern Ontario.

In-person meetings can still be arranged if needed, and contact information and links remain the same.

The corporation adds there are plans to find another physical space within the next two years with the move to digital being a strategic move to save costs and test how the new system benefits both clients and staff.

The corporation had been located in the community centre since its founding in 1988 and will go digital on June 21st.
