Espanola Lions Club Makes Donates to Soccer

By Grant Lewis – What do 250 enthusiastic kids, 5 student volunteer coaches, over 6 volunteer adult coaches and hundreds of keen spectators, all have in common?

SOCCER!!!

And to prove the point, just visit the soccer pitches at the ball field or the football field any night of the week. Espanola Minor Soccer provides activity, skill training, sportsmanship, and a lot of fun for players and spectators alike. All this comes at a price and the Espanola Lions Club was delighted to donate $3,500 to help maintain this great program. Local businesses have also stepped up by sponsoring teams and uniforms. On hand to receive the cheque were players, volunteer coaches and Aidan Kallioinen who is President of the League.
