By Rosalind Russell – A Manitoulin Island First Nation is planning to host Cultural Days featuring workshops and a variety of family activities.
Aundeck Omni Kaning First Nation is planning two days of cultural immersion with the theme Bringing Back the Understanding of the Good Life with the Teachings of the Elders on June 1st and 2nd at their powwow grounds.
The two days of activities include various keynote speakers talking about the Grandmothers and Grandfathers teachings, traditional drumming, and dancing groups as well as family-oriented workshops with a focus on the children and their interactions with local Elders.
Two days of activities start at 9:00 am and will run until 4:30 pm.
