Hair salon undertakes Movember Campaign in Espanola

By Rosalind Russell – A hair salon has taken on the Movember Campaign in Espanola.

Ashley Vitone, the owner of Salon V in Espanola’s downtown, says she is on a mission this month to run, walk and cycle 60 kilometres in honour of the 60 men lost to suicide every hour around the world.

Movember, a movement founded in 2003 that uses that “mo” (moustache) as a symbol to raise awareness of men’s physical and mental health.

Not only is Vitone collecting pledges, but she is also donating $5 from every men’s haircut to the cause.

She is also thankful for the support she is receiving from the community where every man who has his hair cut will be entered into a draw for a gift basket, which will be drawn at the end of the month.
