Harvest Kitchen new season startup in Elliot Lake

By Rosalind Russell – The Harvest Kitchen food security program launched Season 4 yesterday at the Elliot Lake Granite Sport & Social Club.

According to the release, volunteers are excited to welcome diners back for 20 weeks of warm meals, connection, and community support.

All meals will continue to be free or by donation, with no expectation to pay and there is no criteria to access the program, so everyone is welcome.

Harvest Kitchen is primarily funded by The Homelessness Prevention Program (HPP) which is a provincially funded program that provides funding supports to the Algoma District Service Administration Board (ADSAB) to develop and deliver local programs and supports to address homelessness that best meet local needs.

The program is grateful for continued local support as well as past and present donations from individuals and organizations including the Order of The Eastern Star #324, CUPE Local 170, St. Joseph’s General Hospital & Staff and Madame Sylvie’s Class at École Georges-Vanier.

Harvest Kitchen remains committed to supporting food security in the community, offering reliable access to healthy meals and a welcoming space for all.

This year brings a few small changes to theservice format:

Mondays – Lunch served from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Wednesdays – Breakfast served from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., including a bagged lunch to take with you.
